Questions About Our NDIS Support Services

Find clear answers about who we support, how our services work, and how to begin a referral.

Who do you support?
We support NDIS participants across age groups, with particular experience in complex behavioural, psychosocial, communication, functional, and mobility needs. This may include participants with autism, trauma-related needs, psychosocial disability, behaviours of concern, emotional-regulation challenges, or support needs that involve several people and environments. Service suitability is considered individually.
What makes your service different?
Our approach connects clinical understanding with everyday implementation. We look at the participant's goals, strengths, communication, environment, relationships, and current support network. Recommendations are designed to be practical, collaborative, and reviewable rather than remaining only in a report.
Do you support high-risk or complex cases?
Yes, we can consider referrals involving complex or higher-risk presentations, including situations that require coordinated multidisciplinary input or restrictive-practice oversight. Acceptance depends on service scope, practitioner capability, current capacity, available information, and whether we can provide the support safely and appropriately.
Do you provide Behaviour Support Plans?
Yes. Depending on the referral and participant's needs, our Behaviour Support service may include Functional Behaviour Assessments, Interim Behaviour Support Plans, and Comprehensive Behaviour Support Plans prepared in line with applicable NDIS behaviour support requirements.
How do you help reduce behaviours of concern?
We use Positive Behaviour Support to understand what may be influencing or maintaining a behaviour. The process may include identifying patterns and unmet needs, making proactive changes, improving communication, teaching meaningful replacement skills, supporting emotional regulation, and helping the participant's support network use consistent strategies.
Do you work with families and support teams?
Yes. With the participant's consent or appropriate authority, we can work with family members, guardians, carers, Support Coordinators, schools, support workers, and other allied health professionals. Collaboration helps create a shared understanding and supports more consistent implementation.
Do you provide training and professional guidance?
Yes. Where included in the agreed service, we can provide structured explanation, implementation guidance, and training for authorised family members, carers, or support teams. The purpose is to help people understand the strategies, apply them consistently, and recognise when review is required.
What areas do you service?
Fresh Start Wellness is based in Point Cook, Melbourne. We provide services across Australia through flexible delivery options. In-person availability depends on location and practitioner capacity. Telehealth may be offered where it is suitable for the participant, the service, and the clinical goals.
Do you offer culturally responsive support?
Yes. We aim to understand and respect each participant's language, culture, identity, family context, and preferences. Multilingual communication support may be available depending on the service and team availability. Interpreter arrangements can also be discussed where required and available.
How can I make a referral?
You can call us on +61 488 016 006 or complete the referral form on this website. We will review the information, contact the authorised person, discuss service suitability and availability, and explain the next steps. A submitted referral does not automatically guarantee service acceptance or commencement.
Do you offer an initial consultation?
Yes. We offer a complimentary initial conversation of up to 30 minutes to understand the support being requested, answer general questions, and discuss whether our services may be suitable. This conversation is not a clinical assessment and does not create a service agreement.
